Not Your Average To Do List

Published by Barbara Rath on

Each morning I write my To Do list. It is the one that says, do laundry, change beds, pay bills. Or if it is a work day, it is the never-ending list of customers to visit or tasks to tackle.

Sometimes I wonder why I write it all down. It is the same list every day. I do it for the simple pleasure of crossing off each task. It is a blue-on-white justification of the day. It is my way of saying today was not a waste.

I have another To Do list. It is the list filled with books and writing, traveling and sunrises, laughter and friends and family. It is the list that has activities that will make me a bit more intriguing. It is the receptacle for my dreams.

It is also the list that I never get to. Because I have to do the dishes.

If you find this site and like it, it is because we have one thing in common: we both have that second To Do list filled with joy. This blog, Toss the Typewriter, is dedicated to the To Do lists filled with dreams.

Write those dreams down and talk about them. Choose one and do it.

I am.
